Description: A bowling ball is suspended from the ceiling. Have a student stand in front of the class with their back to the side wall. The student should then bring the ball up to their nose and release it. The ball will swing back but will not strike the student (assuming the student did not give it an initial velocity or has moved forward).

Safety Issues: Warn the student to simply let go of the ball and not to move forward.
