PIRA Classification: 6A01.13
Description: A circuit board pulses an LED at a fast rate. The reference signal is sent to channel 1 of a scope. A short length (15 cm) of fiber optic cable is placed between the LED and a receiver. The resulting pulse is displayed on channel 2. The 15 cm length is replaced by a 20 m length and the shift in the pulse is noted. Please note that this is measuring the speed of light in the fiber, which is about 2/3 the speed of light in a vacuum.
Special Instructions: Using the 15 cm length, line up the reference and delay pulses using the adjustment knob on the board.
Condition: Ok.
