Description: The classical Atwood machine consists of two equal masses connected by a light string over a low-frictio double pulley. In this configuration, the mass will not accelerate. When a small mass is added to one of the larger masses, the system will accelerate. g can be calculated from the time it takes one mass to hit the ground.
