Description: A PVC plate is rubbed with black cloth to produce a negative charge. An aluminum plate with an insulated handle is placed on the PVC and tapped. The aluminum disk is then brought to an electroscope to display the transfer of charge.
Special Instructions: Make sure you hear the build up of charge on the PVC. This will be indicated by a crackling noise. Will not work well when humid (beginning of fall semester or summer session).
