Description: An 'ice pail' consisting of a hollow brass sphere with a small opening sits on an insulated stand. The sphere is charged up using a PVC rod and felt. A proof plane is rubbed around the inside of the sphere and then brought to an electroscope, causing no effect. The proof plane is then rubbed around the outside of the sphere and brought to the electroscope. The electroscope reacts.
