Description: Light bulbs and a capacitor are connected to a switch and battery in the configuration shown above. When the switch is closed, the bulb in parallel with the battery and capacitor will stay lit, but the one in series with the capacitor will flash on and then slowly fade. When the switch is opened, both bulbs will glow faintly and slowly go out.
