Optical rotation

Description: A laser is directed through two polarizers to the side wall. The analyzer is rotated until the laser spot on the wall disappears. A bottle of corn syrup is placed between the two polarizers causing the laser spot to reappear. The analyzer is rotated until the spot vanishes and the angle is noted. This is repeated for two other size syrup bottles.

Special Instructions: The thickness of the corn syrup in the three bottles is approximately 1.7, 2.2 and 2.7 inches.
