PIRA Classification: 7D30.30

Description: A beta source (Sr-90) is placed behind a lead shield with a hole in it, effectively collimating the beam. A detector is placed a few inches from the hole and a large count rate can be heard. When a magnet is placed above the hole, the count drops to background levels. The counts should increase when the counter is moved to one side of the hole, depending on the direction of the magnetic field.

Special Instructions: Don't bring the magnet near the detector.
